Kammerochester Pfaffenhofen (Chamber Orchestra)

Founded: 1991 - Schweinfurt, Pfaffenhofen, Bavaria, Germany

The Kammerorchester Pfaffenhofen (Kammerorchester St. Johannes), which was founded in 1991 by Max Penger and his concert-master Manfred Leopold, represents an ideal instrumental complement to the church choir. Of course, the orchestral part of the classical mass composition is the orchestra's main field of activity. The great oratorios of all eras are also part of the repertoire, as well as independent orchestral works from the Baroque concerto grosso to classical epistle sonatas and divertimenti to romantic string serenades.

The ensemble is now on the road beyond Pfaffenhofen throughout Bavaria to accompany various choirs at concerts. Depending on the score, the permanent string ensemble is supplemented by colleagues from the Munich and Augsburg professional orchestras.
