Elisabeth Zottele (Choral Conductor)

Born: Innsbruck, Austria

The Austrian choral conductor, Elisabeth Zottele, studied music education with a major in violin at the Mozarteum in Innsbruck, choral and ensemble conducting at the Howard Arman and combined religious education; singing lessons with Professor Kurt Hofbauer and chamber singer Hilde Rössel-Majdan. Until 1997 she was a singer in the Arnold Schoenberg Chor. She studied conducting with James Moore; and received training through numerous choral conductor courses at home and abroad. She was guest speaker at choir events. In 1994-2003 she had close co-operation with the Bratislava Radio Symphony Orchestra.

Since 1987, Elisabeth Zottele is Director of the Chor der Kalvarienbergkirche in Vienna, and from 1995 to 2001 she was also the Artistic Director of the vocal ensemble "per sonare". From 1998 to 2002 she was Director of the Collegium Vocale Wien.

Elisabeth Zottele ia a lecturer at the Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Vienna.
