Orquestra Sinfônica da Escola de Música da UFMG (Symphony Orchestra)

Founded: 1972 - Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil

The Orquestra Sinfônica da Escola de Música da UFMG Symphonic Orchestra of the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais School of Music), founded by Professor Sebastião Vianna in 1972, plays a fundamental role in the structure of the School and works as a laboratory for a large number of classes, including conducting, composition, orchestral instruments and even singing. It is composed of professional musicians and undergraduate and graduate students from UFMG. The Orquestra Sinfônica is a powerful educational instrument and performs free monthly concerts, open to the public, in order to spread the symphonic art and contribute to the formation of the public.
