The Orquestra Sinfônica da Escola de Música da UFMG Symphonic Orchestra of the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais School of Music), founded by Professor Sebastião Vianna in 1972, plays a fundamental role in the structure of the School and works as a laboratory for a large number of classes, including conducting, composition, orchestral instruments and even singing. It is composed of professional musicians and undergraduate and graduate students from UFMG. The Orquestra Sinfônica is a powerful educational instrument and performs free monthly concerts, open to the public, in order to spread the symphonic art and contribute to the formation of the public. |
