Gerhard Trubel (Choral Conductor)

Born: February 21, 1917 - Bochum, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany
Died: September 4, 2004 - Dortmund, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany

Gerhard Trubel was a German church musician and composer. He was Director of the Dortmunder Kantorei. He was the creator of numerous polyphonic phrases in Hymns of the Evangelisch-methodistischen Kirche (United Methodist Church), including Hilf uns einander helfen (EM 558) and Auf den vielen Lebenswegen (EM 587). In 1991, he was awarded Verdienstkreuz am Bande der Bundesrepublik Deutschland (Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany).
