Arturo Torres (Tenor)

Born: San Luis Potosí S.L.P, Mexico

The Mexican tenor, Arturo Torres, began his singing studies in 2006 in the Estudio Bel Canto with Martha Graciela Negrete Moreno; he completed the method of 24 Italian Arias by Alessandro Parisotti with which he began his studies as a solo singer; he addressed the repertoire for tenor and began to participate as a soloist of the Coro Domus Cantorum de la Universidad Politécnica de San Luis Potosí; there he remained for about 6 years intermittently taking singing classes and improvement workshops; he also began taking singing courses and master-class with the Brazilian Doctor, Teacher and Singer Linus Lerner, continued training with singing teachers of different styles and nationalities such as Adriano Pinheiro - Tenor (Brazil), Liliana del Conde - Soprano (Mexico), Arturo Barrera - Baritone (Mexico), Gabriela Herrera - Soprano (Mexico), Carsten Wittmoser - Baritone (Germany), Falko Hönisch - Baritone (Germany) and Brenda Santiago - Soprano (Mexico) Sumi Jo - Soprano (South Korea) Alejandra García Sandoval - Soprano (Mexico) among others. He has also taken some courses and master-classes in scenic development with the singer and actor Oswaldo Martin del Campo (Mexico) as part of the different festivals and workshops that he has taken to mention some such as the Festival de Canto Alemán, Festival de Ópera de San Luis, Festival de Ópera de Oaxaca and singing workshops by the Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí.

Arturo Torres has participated in different cultural events such as Festivales de Ópera, Festival de Música Antigua y Barroca Los Fundadores, Tributes to Edith Piaff and Frank Sinatra, 5th Festival Cultural de la luna en peña de Bernal Querétaro, Jueves Cultural por parte de la Academia Superior de la policía Federal, Presentations in the Palacio de Gobierno de San Luis Potosí, Celebration of the 123rd Aniversario del Teatro de la Paz en San Luis Potosí, Viernes Cultural en el Palacio Legislativo de la Ciudad de Aguascalientes, Décimo octavo Festival Equinoccio en Tulancingo Hgo, Festival de la Cantera 2018 en San Luis Potosí, among Others. He has had the opportunity to present and promote the genre of Lyrical singing in different local television programs and in other states such as Viva la fiesta con Cristi y Oscar, Esta noche con Paco Núñez, Tu tiempo, Noches VIP and in various programs of radio from San Luis Potosí, Zacatecas, Oaxaca, Chiapas, Guadalajara, Aguascalientes, Luisiana and Texas.

He has been a member of various ensembles and choirs such as La Cetra, Ensamble Decibelux, Ópera para todos SLP, Domus Cantorum, Estudio de Bel Canto, Coro de la Fraternidad Educativa de la SEGE SLP, Vuela Alto, Vita Voce, Fundación Filarmónica Potosina, Vocalise Universitario, among others, within which he has performed various works both in choir and soloist, including W.A. Mozart's Coronation Mass, Great Mass in C minor; J.S. Bach's Magnificat BWV 243, Cantata BWV 15 and Cantata BWV 140; Didactic adaptation of the Georges Bizet's opera Carmen; 4th Movement of Georges Bizet's Symphony No. 9; selections from George Frideric Handel's Messiah; he has also tackled the popular music repertoire of some local composers and arrangers such as Jorge Martínez Zapata and Leonardo Flores. He has been a cultural promoter organizing various master-classes and improvement workshops inviting international teachers and promoting projects such as Vita Voce bringing the Lyric genre to unusual spaces such as public transport buses, markets, hospitals, military barracks, police academy, public squares, and open spaces of the historic center in various cities by the hand of his colleagues and colleagues from Vita Voce. He has had the opportunity to share the stage with several singers such as the soprano Liliana del Conde, the baritone José Manuel González Caro (First place Carlo Morelli) and the soprano Emma Calo (Participant of the Voice Mexico 2017). He currently continues to promote the Vita Voce project as a member and General Director and seeks to make synergy with other companies to continue bringing the musical culture in his state and throughout the Mexican Republic.
