Stony Brook Baroque Ensemble (Baroque Instrumental Ensemble)

Born: Stony Brook, New York, USA

The Stony Brook Baroque Ensemble is ensemble is only open to graduate students in the Deparment of Music. The Music Director of the ensemble is Arthur Haas.

The Stony Brook Baroque Players, under the direction of Arthur Haas, presents delightful programs of vocal and instrumental music on period and modern instruments spanning the entire Baroque period, from the early 17th to the middle 18th centuries. Featured composers include C. Monteverdi, J.S. Bach, Georg Philipp Telemann, François Couperin, H. Purcell, among others.

Baroque Sundays at Three is Long Island’s leading music series dedicated to historically informed performance of early music. Concerts are offered free with a suggested goodwill donation to offset expenses and further the study and performance of early music at Stony Brook University.
