Fabrizio Da Ros (Conductor)

Born: Feltre, Italy

The Italian conductor, singer and and cellist, Fabrizio Da Ros, has been singing since 1983 in the choral formations of the Schola Cantorum di St. Giustina, and has received numerous first prizes in national and international contests. Subsequent to his studies at the Musicological Science faculty (majoring in organ studies), within the School of Paleography and Musical Philology at Pavia University (annex of Cremona), he graduated as a cellist from the A. Steffani Conservatory of Castelfranco Veneto. He had studied also vocal technique (baritone) with A. Zedda (Accademia Rossiniana) and with W. Matteuzzi. He continued his studies of vocal technique with A.A. Goussev in Milan. He specialized in choral conducting with P. Righele, N. Conci, G. Mazzucato and C. Høgset and in orchestra conducting with Peter Neumann, Filippo Maria Bressan and C. De Sessa. In 2009 he graduated in Orchestra Conducting with D. Renzetti at the Accademia Musicale Pescarese and with Mas Condè at Wiener Konservatorium (Vienna). He specialized in Orchestra Conducting for Lyric Opera in International master-class with D. Renzetti, A. Zedda and G. Gelmetti and with the lesson of great artists such as: G.G. Guelfi, W. Matteuzzi, R. Bruson and B. Giaiotti, G. Zancanaro.

Fabrizio Da Ros has performed under the direction of famous orchestra conductors such as R. Abbado, M. Antonini, U. Benedetti Michelangeli, M. De Bernardt, Filippo Maria Bressan, Rudolf Buchbinder, Myung-Whun Chung, Ottavio Dantone, P. Fournier, Reinhard Goebel, Carlo Maria Giulini, Martin Haselböck, E. Inbal, Neeme Järvi, P. Maag, Riccardo Muti, C. Rovaris, with important choral and instrumental formations, including Athestis Chorus, La Stagione Armonica, Coro del Friuli Venezia Giulia, Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, The Italian Philharmonic Orchestra (OFI) and the Regional Orchestra of Veneto Conservatories (ORCV) at the most important Italian and European concert halls and Theatres.

In 2004-2009 he was assistant of m° Renzetti, m° Filippo Maria Bressan and R. Palumbo in many Opera productions in the most important Opera House such as: Teatro la Scala, Gran Teatro La Fenice, Chicago Lyric Opera, MET, Teatro Regio of Parma, Teatro Marrucino, Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, Teatro of Savona, Teatro Verdi of Trieste. In 2010 he has prepeared with S. Balestracci the choir La Stagione Armonica for the “Concerto dell’Amicizia” conducted by Riccardo Muti in Trieste.

After his debut in the Mahler Saal in Dobbiaco in 2004, Fabrizio Da Ros has conducted the most important operas, the most important symphonic and Choral-symphonic works (with a great interest for Italian lyric opera/sacred Baroque music and French opera/operetta/choral music) in many Italian and European theatres and festival (such as: Palais de la Musique de Strasbourg (France) 2011, Festival Salieri di Legnago 2011, Asolo musica Veneto Musica 1999, Ferrara Musica/Teatro di Ferrara 1999, Festival de la Musique Ancienne de Valere (Swittzerland) 2009 and 2013, Teatro Giovanni da Udine 2008, Teatro Comunale di Belluno 2009, Teatro Masini di Faenza 2011, Teatro Cantero di Chiavari 2013, Symphonyc Hall Toluca (Mexico), Siri Fort Auditorium (India), Symphonic Hall Ankara (Turkey), Teatro la Fenice/Marghera Opera Festival 2011, Amberg Stadttheater 2012 (Germany), Megaron, Athens (Greece) 2012, Terme di Caracalla 2013, Festival de Bayeux 2009 (France), Festival Leoncavallo 2013, working with important directors such as B. Streiff, P. Panizza, M. Gandini, I. Stefanutti, R. Bonajuto, G. Romagnoli, M. Pucci Catena.

Fabrizio Da Ros has recorded for: Rivalto, Rainbow, Bongiovanni, Tactus, Arts, Amadeus, Digital Sound labels.

Since 1999 Fabrizio Da Ros has been the Artistic Director of the Daphne Chamber Orchestra. The last appointments are: Artisic Director of Schola Cantorum di S. Giustina and Coro da Camera di Belluno, Chief Conductor of Daphne Chamber Orchestra and Youth Symphonic Orchestra of Belluno and Orchestra Classica Italiana (on classical instruments), First Guest conductor of Orchestra S. Marco di Pordenone. He is also Artistic Director of “Musica Festival Belluna” (III edition), “International Choral Festival” (XXI edition), “Natale in Coro” (XXX edition).

Since September 2018 Fabrizio Da Ros works at Conservatorio "S. Giacomantonio" Cosenza He currently lives in Preganziol, Italy
