Vocalconsort München (Vocal Ensemble)

Founded: 2013 - Munich, Bavaria, Germany

The Vocalconsort München (Director: Johanna Soller) has its roots in the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München. Founded in 2013 by Johanna Soller, the young ensemble is primarily dedicated to Baroque choral music against the background of historical performance practice, but its programs repeatedly create cross-connections between the eras. Within a very short period of time, the Vocalconsort München has developed a national reputation. So far, invitations have led to the Audi-Sommerkonzerten Ingolstadt and the Stiftskirche Stuttgart, the Kammeroper München and the Jewish Chamber Orchestra. The ensemble repeatedly works with renowned instrumentalists and soloists of early music. In April 2019 the Vocalconsort München attracted attention in a performance of J.S. Bach's Matthäus-Passion BWV 244 with Julian Prégardien as the Evangelist.
