Minako Matsuura (Piano)

Born: Sapporo, Japan

The Japanese pianist, Minako Matsuura, began playing the piano at the age of 5 years old and studied with Noriyuki Miyazawa, at the President of the Sapporo Conservatoire in Japan. She was the winner of the Japanese Mainichi Competition and won 1st Prize in the PTNA Piano Competition and the Junior Competition in hokkaido. In 2001 she began her musical study in Paris with Professor Hubert Guillard. She received the 'Medaille d'Or à l'unanimité avec la Félicitation' the Music Diploma of the City of Paris. She was selected as a soloist to give concerts with the Orchestra of the CNR de la Courneuve et d'Aubervilliers. She finished studying with the 'Premier Prix à l'unanimité' at the Conservatoire National de Région de la Courneuve et d'Aubrevilliers in Paris in the year of 2003. After that she began to study with Professor Eckart Heiligers and Professor Seung-Yeun Huh in the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Zürich, Switzerland and received both the Pedagogic Diploma and Concertist Diploma with Excellence in 2007 and the Soloist Diploma in 2009. She visited master-classes given by Pavel Gililov, Jean Fassina, Marian Ribicky, Ralf Nattkemper, Jaques Rouvier, Sergio Perticarolli and Eric Heidsieck. She has also won the 1st Prize at the Poland International Music Festival Competition, the 2nd Prize in the Landolt Competition and the Duttweiler-Hug Competition in Zürich, Special Prize at the International Chopin Competition in Marianske Lazne in Czech Republic and the Heide Wolf Stipendium and Stipendium eines Musikliebhabers at the International Piano Academy Pianale in Germany.

Furthermore Minako Matsuura has given concerts in France (Salle Cortot de Paris), Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, Spain, Japan and Switzerland. She has also given concerts with the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, Huttwiller Chamber Orchestra and the Orchestra ZHdK. From 2010 to 2012 she has been working at the Music School of Eutherpe in Leon, Spain as a Piano teacher. Since 2012 she resides in Switzerland and travels regularly between Europe and Japan.
