She obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts degreefrom the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) with Dr. Colleen Brooks (2019); and her Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Colorado-Boulder, where she studied with Abigail Nims (2019-2021). She has received various scholarships and awards, including the St. David’s Society Music Scholarship, Friends of Music Scholarship, Moebius Merit Award, Dr. Henry and Julia Freund Scholarship, Denver Lyric Opera Guild Scholarship, Sara Eikenberry Voice Graduate Scholarship. In 2016, she placed 2nd in the 2016 Sophomore Women division of the Wisconsin NATS Student Auditions; and in 2019, she placed 2nd in the Graduate division at the West-Central Regional NATS competition.

Kaisa Herrmann's past roles include Narcisso in George Frideric Handel's Agrippina and the Sandman in Engelbert Humperdinck's Hänsel und Gretel with the Eklund Opera Program, the Fox in The Little Prince at Grace Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. Over the summer of 2018, she performed the role of Zerlina from W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni in the Opera Scenes Gala with the Up North Vocal Institute. Past UWM Opera Theatre performances include Annio in W.A. Mozart's La Clemenza Di Tito, Belinda in Dido and Aeneas and Violetta in La Périchole as well scenes from W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro (Susanna), Les contes d’Hoffmann (Giulietta), and Turandot (Liù). Coming fresh out of academia, she is excited to begin building her career, and takes an especial interest in early and new music. Most recently, she performed J.S. Bach’s Cantata BWV 170 Vergnügte Ruh, beliebte Seelenlust and is looking forward to more concert and recital work in the future. Having started a love for early music ensemble singing in high school through madrigals, she was a founding member of the Milwaukee based ensemble Aperi Animam and later sang with the CU-Boulder Early Music Ensemble. After the past year (2020-2021) of solely virtual performances, she is so excited for this new beginning back in Milwaukee Opera Theatre, where she sings La Musica and Euridice L'Orfeo in June 2021.
