Martina Bovet (Soprano)

Born: Arnex, Vaud, Switzerland

The Swiss soprano, Martina Bovet, grew up in Zürich, and studied at the Conservatory there with Carol Smith and Irwin Gage. A study stay led her to London to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She continued to study in London with Vera Rozsa, attended the Opernstudio Basel, and was also trained in Baroque performance practice with René Jacobs at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.

From 1986 to 1990 Martina Bovet was member of the opera ensemble at the Theater Basel. Since then she is free-lance soloist in opera, oratorio and Lieder with expanded practice in early and commitment for contemporary music (soloist in many premieres). Concert appearances took place not only in Europe, but brought her also to North and South America, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. She also received more voice training Daniel Ferro, Maria Sandulescu and Margreet Honig.

Martina Bovet teaches singing and singing didactics at the Konservatorium Zürich. She currently lives in Zürich, Switzerland.
