Kammerorchester Bad Kissingen (Chamber Orchestra)

Founded: 1981 - Bad Kissingen, Bavaria, Germany

Founded in 1981 at the Erlöserkirche in Bad Kissingen, the Kammerorchester Bad Kissingen consists of around 18 strings, divided into up to 6 first, 6 second violins, 2 violas, 3-4 cellos and 1 double bass. They rehearse and play for (cantatas) services and concerts at the Erlöserkirche, but they also play outside. They are also familiar with “Tangos and Ragtimes”.

The press wrote about the concert on October 23, 1999, among other things. Benjamin Britten's Simple Symphony" "... the Kammerorchester Bad Kissingen and its soloists ... achieved a triumphant success ... an almost two-hour concert at a high artistic level ..."

2002: on November 23, 2002 with L.v. Beethoven's Symphony No. 1 and Schubert's Symphony No. 5.
2004: A composition commissioned by the Kammerorchester: A Fancy by Giampaolo di Rosa, world premiere on November 27, 2004
2006: On December 22, 2006, among other things, with the first ever composed concerto for guitar and string orchestra by Mauro Giuliani from 1806.
In 2011 the Kammerorchester achieved a remarkable 2nd place in the Bayerischen Orchesterwettbewerb, which was held in the studios of the Bayerischen Rundfunks in Munich.
In 2014 they made their debut at a concert on Good Friday at the Max-Littmann-Saal des Regentenbaus.
In November 2014, the Kammerorchester played live in a TV service on ZDF (November 23, Eternity Sunday) and had 680,000 spectators.
In 2017 they played Weihnachts-Oratorium BWV 248 by J.S. Bach and in 2019 Donner-Ode by Georg Philipp Telemann, and in 2020 they had a television service live on BR3 television at the end of June.
