Andrei Andreev (Piano, Conductor)

Born: 1986 - Kok-Yangak town, Osh region, Kyrgyz Republic

The Kyrgyz-born, Andrei [Andrey] Ivanovich Andreev, was born in Kok-Jangack, a small town in Kyrgyzstan where he lived 15 years and studied at music schools in Kok-Yangak and Jalal-Abad (teachers Elena Kremen, Alla Khadzhimatova). At 15, he moved with his family to Saratov, Russia. In Saratov, he completed his undergraduate degree at Saratov Regional College of Arts, and from 2007 studied at the Sobinov Saratov State Conservatory, where he obtained his Master of Music degree. In both schools, he attended Albert Tarakanov's studio for piano performance. Albert Tarakanov is a pupil of Heinrich Neuhaus and People's Artist of Russia.

During his studies, Andrei Andreev began touring in Russia, Europe, and the USA. He performed in Big Hall of Saratov State Conservatory; Saratov State Philharmonia, Yaroslavl State Philharmonia with its Orchestra; Orenbourg's College; the Big Hall of St.Petersburg's House Of Music; Hall Beloselskich-Beloozerskich in St. Petersburg; in Glinka's Museum in Moscow. In Europe, he performed in Strasbourg's churches. After completing his studies, he performed for 4 years with the Saratov Philarmonic Orchestra as the principal keyboardist. In addition to his performance career, he also taught piano at the Saratov State Conservatory for 2 years.

Andrei Andreev has won several international and more than 10 Russian piano competition awards. Prizes include: 1st prize at the international piano competition "Europe-Asia" held in Orsk, Russion (2003); 2nd Prize Award in the International Competition “Europe-Asia” (2004); winner at the 20th D. B. Kabalevsky Russian National Competition for Young Musicians (2005); Grand Prix at the 4th Open Regional Pianists Competition in Saratov (2007); Grand Prix at the Regional Piano Competition in Volsk, Russia (2007), 2nd prize in the International Competition devoted to the Centennial Anniversary of Saratov State Conservatory (2012). Other prizes include: 1st prize in The Way to Master a Skill International Piano Competition in Moscow. He has also been awarded several government grants for his contributions to the arts. Additionally, he participated in and has been recognized by many music projects, such as The River of Talents, a project funded by the House of Music of St. Petersburg which is focused on discovering new talent. He later participated in a similar program in Moscow.

Andrei Andreev graduated the University of Oregon under the instruction of Alexandre Dossin. Currently, he is pursuing a Doctoral's degree in Piano Performance at the James Madison University; he is under the instruction of Dr. Paulo Steinberg.

Andrey Andreev has performed with the Chamber orchestra of Saratov city’s Philharmonic Saratov Russia, Symphonic orchestra of Saratov Government Conservatory, and the Symphonic orchestra of Ulyanovsk city’s Philharmonic, Ulyanovsk, Russia. He has also been the conductor fo the Zhukov. Saratov military orchestra and performed at recitals and international competitions.
