Dorota Anderszewska (Violin)

Born: Warsaw, Poland

The Polish violinist, Dorota Anderszewska, was born to a Polish father and a Hungarian mother. She started her musical education in her home town of Warsaw. After studies in Poland and France she won a scholarship in the USA. She spent four years at the University of South California and the California Institute of Arts (where she studied with Andre Granat, a student of Jascha Heifetz) and two years in New York, where she did the Master of Music degree (with Dorothy Delay). She has won prizes in numerous international competitions: in Lublin (The Wieniawski-Lipinski Competition), Trapani, Beijing, Marseilles (the Zino Francescatti Competition).

Since 1998 Dorota Anderszewska has been concert-master of the National Bordeaux Aquitaine Orchestra. She has performed solo and in duet with her brother Piotr Anderszewski in leading concert halls in Europe, Asia and America: the Wigmore Hall in London, the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest, the Princess Grace Theatre in Monte Carlo, the Bordeaux Theatre, the National Philharmonic in Warsaw, the National Theatre in Taipei, the National Library in Ottawa, the Hancock Auditorium in Los Angeles, the Weill Recital Hall (Carnegie Hall) and the Alice Tully Hall in New York.
