Christoph Friedrich Schröer (Pastor, Bach's Pupil)

Born: September 291 or October 122, 1724 - Taucha, Saxony, Germany
Died: December 2, 1800 - Leuben, near Lommatzsch, Saxony, Germany

Christoph Friedrich Schröer was born the son of Christoph Schröer (Pastor in Taucha). He enrolled at the Thomasschule in Leipzig on April 24, 1735; studied there from 1735 to 1744; and at Universität Leipzig from 1742. Although he attended the Thomasschule during J.S. Bach's tenure, it is not known if he actually studied with him. After his studies, he was Deacon (2nd position) in Zschaitz from March 18, 1751, Pastor (1st position) in Pausitz near Wurzen from 1757, Senior Pastor in Leuben near Lommatzsch from 1760.
