Johann Christoph Schmied (Bach's Pupil?)

Born: April 4, 1708 - Bendeleben, Thuringia, Germany
Died: unknown

Johann Christoph Schmied studied at the Thomasschule in Leipzig in 1729. He was not accepted as Thomaner; J.S. Bach's report in Leipzig from May 9, 1729 indicates that he had a good tenor voice and could sight-read music very well. Most probably he was not J.S. Bach's pupil.
