Christoph Gotthelf Rost (Bach's Pupil)

Born: February 24, 1716 - Pehritzsch, Saxony, Germany
Died: March 22, 1734 - Leipzig, Saxony, Germany

Christoph Gotthelf Rost was born the son of Georg Rost (schoolmaster in Pehritzsch). He enrolled at the Thomasschule in Leipzig on May 12, 1732; studied there from 1732 to 1734, since October 9, 1730 already as external. He died as an alumnus. Although he attended the Thomasschule during J.S. Bach's tenure, it is not known if he actually studied with him.
