Johann Gottfried Graß (Bach's Pupil)

Born: June 9, 1710 - Leipzig, Saxony, Germany
Died: not determined

Johann Gottfried Graß [Grass] was born to Johann Graß (shoemaker). He enrolled at the Thomasschule in Leipzig on July 13, 1723; studied there from 1723 to 1732, since April 26, 1723 already as external; and at Universität Leipzig from 1733. Although he attended the Thomasschule during J.S. Bach's tenure, it is not known if he actually studied with him. J.S. Bach reported (August 23, 1730): “incompetent, not at all musical”.
