Johan Friedrich Braune (Bach's Pupil)

Born: August 18, 1714 - ???
Died: unknown

Johann Friedrich Braune enrolled at the Thomaschule on June 20, 1727; studied there from 1727 to 1734; and at the Universität Leipzig from 1737. Although he attended the Thomasschule during J.S. Bach's tenure, it is not known if he actually studied with him. In an application to the city of Leipzig on August 23, 1730, J.S. Bach counts him among the students who are “incompetent, not at all musical”.

Needs clarification:
Is this the same pupil as Johann Friedrich Braun?
