The English soprano, Cally Marie Youdell, studied at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) with Sandra Dugdale where she received a first class degree (2011-2015); and completed her masters at The Koninklijke Conservatorium (Royal Conservatory) in The Hague under the guidance of Catrin Wyn-Davies, Michael Chance and Dorothee Mields (2016-2018). She has sung in master-classes and concerts for such prestigious musicians as Emma Kirkby, Carolyn Sampson, Lynne Dawson, Sir John Tomlinson, Laurence Cummings, Mike Fentross, Peter Van Heyghen, Michael Chance and Jill Feldman. In 2015 she was awarded a Dartington International Summer School Bursary and was the joint winner of the RNCM's Chris Petty English Song Prize. She was a 2016 Iford Arts New Generation Artist.
Cally Youdell has performed as a soloist on Dutch national radio and BBC Radio 3 and 4 and in 2016 she toured to New York to sing J.S. Bach's Mass in B minor (BWV 232) with Ton Koopman and Julliard. She sings with the Dutch Radio Choir (Groot Omroepkoor) and is looking forward to re-joining The Grange Festival Chorus for their 2019 season.
In 2017 Cally Youdell covered the roles of Fortuna and Melanto in Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria (Monteverdi) at The Grange Festival and sang in the chorus of Dutch National Opera's The New Prince. In 2018 she covered the role of Poppea in Agrippina (George Frideric Handel) at The Grange Festival, made her role debut as Zerlina in Opera on Location's production of Don Giovanni (W.A. Mozart) and performed as soprano soloist in The Merry Opera Company's Messiah (G.F. Handel), staged by John Ramster.
