Via Nova Consort (Instrumental Ensemble)

Founded: Saarbrücke, Saarland, Germany

When the Via Nova Consort was formed, the desire to find the original sound and language of Baroque music was not so widespread as it is today. At that time the road was still a new one. But even today, when much that has been sought and found has become generally accepted, there are still undiscovered paths beside the well known ‘new ways’, which lead to discoveries and new insights. Still eager to find unknown, forgotten compositions and revealing sources and research, the Via Nova Consort now reaps the rewards of their rich experience and knowledge. Their latest research project is called ‘Christian Ernst Graf’.

Core Members:

Mechthild Blaumer (Violin)
Lorenz Blaumer (Violin)
Helmut Winkel (Viola)
Mario Blaumer (Violoncello)
Eri Takeguchi (Harpsichord)
