The Orchestra Barocca del Friuli 'G.B. Tiepolo' presents music of the 17th and 18th centuries with original instruments or faithful copies of them. Through philological studies of treatises of the period intended to give an opportunity to listen to unreleased music and such masterpieces as they were probably carried out by the composers themselves. It is not so barren of research, but a historical reconstruction and first music during concerts or through recordings allows the public to realize the charm and beauty of classical music in accordance with the early music performance practice.
The Orchestra has performed numerous concerts participating in prestigious musical events inside and outside the Venice region. In collaboration with the l'Assessorato alla Cultura della Provincia (Department of Culture of the Province of Udine), the Orchestra has participated in 2000, at the 1st Baroque Music Festival in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia, dedicated to J.S. Bach, while the 2nd Festival centered on the figure of the Venetian figure Antonio Vivaldi.
The Orchestra has published, in collaboration with Azienda to promote regional tourism and the Fondazione CRUP, the recording of the opera IV La Stravaganza. In December 2001 they made the world premiere in modern times the work Flavio Cuniberto, re dei Longobardi by Giandomenico Partenio on the occasion of the tercentenary of his death. In 2002 provides for the unfolding of the events of the 3rd Festival entitled "To die, to sleep ... maybe Dream", Shakespeare's famous phrase is intended to indicate that the three main themes of the event, which was culminated with a performance of the pantomime La Selva Incantata by Francesco Geminiani.
The members of the Orchestra, having trained in the major European musical institutions under the guidance of the leading international scholars of early music performance. Even now, they continue to work with famous European groups such as, for example, Les Arts Florissants (Director: William Christie), Venice Baroque Orchestra (Director: Andrea Marcon), Capello Musicae Graz, Ensemble Aurora (Director: Enrico Gatti), Sonatori de la Gioiosa Marca, Ensemble Zefiro (Director: Alfredo Bernardini), Academia Montis Regalis, Orchestra barocca di Bologna, Cappella della Pietà dei Turchini, Il Complesso Barocco (Director: Alan Curtis), Les Musiciens du Louvre (Director: Marc Minkowski). |
