Twentieth Century Classics Ensemble (Instrumental Ensemble)

Founded: Late 1980’s - USA

Robert Craft formed the Twentieth Century Classics Ensemble (= TCCE) to perform and record the seminal works of the last century, in particular the music of Igor Stravinsky, Arnold Schoenberg and Anton Webern. Since the late 1980’s Fred Sherry has engaged musicians who, in addition to being virtuosos, have a deep commitment to this music. The close working relationship between the players and Robert Craft has produced finely tuned and deeply felt performances which are heightened by Robert Craft’s own stamp of authenticity. These recordings have been hailed by critics and fellow musicians alike.
