Swedish Baroque Orchestra (Baroque Ensemble)

Founded: 1989 - Västerås, Sweden

The Swedish Baroque Orchestra (Swedish: Svenska Barockorkestern) is a group of musicians who share a passionate love for Baroque music. The ensemble was formed in 1989 by musicians from Västerås Sinfonietta and specializes in performing Baroque music on period instruments, something that has become common, of course, today. In collaborations with choirs around the country and their own orchestra productions, they have made music with many well-known artists such as Eric Ericson, Mikael Samuelson, Roy Goodman, Ann Hallenberg, Maria Keohane and many more.
