Michaela Singendonk (Contralto)

Born: Munich, Germany

The German contralto, Michaela Singendonk (Dobmeier), was born in Munich and grew up in a family of singers. Already in her youth she met in the choir of his father (church music director Karl Dobmeier) the great sacred works, learned them and soon took over solo tasks. She studied singing at the Hochschule für Musik in Graz and the Hochschule für Musik Würzburg. 1990, she gained scholarship of the Richard Wagner Association and sang during her studies title roles at the Neuburger Kammeroper and the Chiemgau-Festspielen.

After the concert diploma, Michaela Singendonk was a member of the ensemble ProVocante and appeared as soloist at home and abroad. In February 2000 she was winner of the singing competition "Concurso regional de Canto Caja Canaria in the Canary Islands and in April 2001 was finalist at the International "Concurso de Canto Ciudad de Logrono in Spain. Since then she can also be heard regularly in concerts and Lieder recitals.
