Iveta Romancāne (Soprano)

Born: May 20, 1975 - Viļķenes, Latvia

The Latvian soprano Musician, Iveta Romancāne, studied at Baumanis Karlis Viļķene Elementary School (1983-1990); Limestone Children's Music School in accordion class (1985-1990); Alfredas Kalnins Cēsu Music College Choir Department (1990-1995); Latvian Academy of Music, conductor division (1995-2000). Since 1992 she has studied solos singing (teacher A. Karklins), has sung in a Mācību Korī (teacher Liga Priedīte). From 1997 she sang in the choir "Kamēr" (Director: M. Sirmais).

Since 1998, Iveta Romancāne works as a teacher of the preparation class at Rīgas Doma Skolā. Since 2002, she is a member of the Valsts akadēmiskā kora "Latvija". She has participated in choir performances in around 30 international competitions and concerts abroad (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Holland, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Singapore, etc.), including Latvian Song Celebration in the USA, Chicago (2002). In 2005, she performed one of the main roles (Izredzētā) in the performance of the Latvian Drama theater Melanholiskais valsis. Since 2006, she has been the soprano of the Latvian Radio Choir, the first soprano.
