Brad Raymond (Tenor)

Born: Houston, Texas, USA

Ther American tenor, Brad Raymond, obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration degree (BBA) in Business, Music from Southern Methodist University (2001-2005); his Master's degree in Music - Vocal Performance from Indiana University Bloomington (2005-2008); his Doctor of Musical Arts in Music - Vocal Pedagogy from The University of Texas at Austin (2009-2012); and his Doctor of Law degree (JD Law) from University of Houston Law Center (2017-2020). Since September 2019, he is Visiting Law Student at Fordham University School of Law.

Brad Raymond is enjoying a promising career as a teacher, opera singer, and concert soloist. He has been teaching since 2006 in various levels ranging from elementary students to grown adults. His teaching approach centers on empowering the pupil with essential tools to become great singers in their own right. His goal is to always help to cultivate the passion in his students for all things singing. He relishes in the opportunity to encourage and instruct talented, young musicians to be lifelong learners of the arts. He has instructed his students in many different kinds of music; from pop to broadway to classical to opera. He specializes in teaching singers with little to no background in music.

Brad Raymond performed as Opera Singer in Various Opera Companies (2002-2017). He was an Emerging Artist with Boston Lyric Opera, and also made his debuts with the Glimmerglass Festival, Opera Saratoga, Aspen Opera Theater, and Columbus Opera. He has appeared as Triquet with Opera Theatre Middlebury in Eugene Onegin, the Dancing Master in Manon Lescaut with Chautauqua Opera, and as Kaspar in Amahl and the Night Visitors with the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra.

Brad Raymond has won prizes in numerous singing competitions, including First Prize in the National Opera Association Regional Competition, a Semi-finalist in the Joy in Sing Competition, Second place in the Fielder Grant Competition, a Finalist in the Merola Opera Program Auditions, numerous First Place awards in both district and regional National Association for the Teachers of Singing competitions, a Full Scholarship to tour Austria as a soloist for the Irving Chorale, and the award for Best Male Vocalist in the City of Austin as named by the Austin Critics’ Table for the title role in Benjamin Britten's Albert Herring. He has also performed in singing tours in Italy, South Africa, and Germany, and has received research grants to study in France and Great Britain.
