The Danish mezzo-soprano, Nana Bugge Rasmussen, was greatly interested in singing already as a child, and so she got her first vocal training in the Childrens Choir of the Royal Danish Academy of Music, where she started eight years old. Parallel to private vocal studies with Anne Margrethe Dahl, she studied philosophy at the University of Copenhagen from 2005 to 2007, where she got accepted both at the Royal Danish Academy of Music (RDAM), Copenhagen, as well as at Universität der Künste, Berlin. She began her studies in Berlin and continued in Copenhagen. In 2010 she gained her Bachelor of Arts degree from RDAM, and in 2013 her Master of Arts degree, studying with Susanna Eken. In November 2013, she won the 3rd prize at the competition Concorso Internazionale Musica Sacra in Rome; and in September 2014, she won the 2nd prize at Concours International de Chant Baroque in Froville, France.

Nana Bugge Rasmussen works with Lied as well as opera and church music. From 2015 to 2017, she was part of the programme 'Den Unge Elite', sponsored by the Danish Arts Foundation. A grant given to highly talented musicians with focus on building an international career. She has appeared as a soloist with renowned orchestras such as Kammerorchester Basel (Director: Julia Schröder), Accademia Bizantina (Director: Ottavio Dantone), Cammerata Øresund (Director: Peter Spissky) and Le Capriccio Francais (Director: Philippe Le Fèvre), and sung the alto-parts in J.S. Bach's Cantatas under the baton of Andreas Scholl at the Festival d'Opéra Baroque de Beaune and on tour in Switzerland, Germany and France (Frankfurt Alte Oper, Théatre de Champs-Élysées Paris, Grand Théatre de Provence Aix-en-Provence). In 2017 she had her debut at the Royal Danish Opera, singing the role of Eurydike in the contemporary opera Downfall by Nicolai Worsaae and in 2018 she was a fellow at Vadstena Akademin and performed in Vadstena Akademin's yearly opera production.
