Mitch Raemaekers (Tenor)

Born: November 23, 1992 - The Netherlands

The Dutch tenor, Mitch Raemaekers, studied singing at the Conservatoire of Maastricht (the Netherlands) with Axel Everaert, as well as musicology at the University of Leuven (Belgium), where he graduated cum laude with a thesis on Riccardo Zandonai's Francesca da Rimini. He is currently being coached by vocal pedagogue Manuela Ochakovski. Mitch cherishes a profound interest for hi-fi audio and recordings, but also the music, literature and visual art forms of the fin-de-siècle and early 20th century and happily welcomes multi-disciplinary initiatives.

Mitch Raemaekers is based in the Netherlands. In November 2015 he made his debut at the Dutch Nationale Opera & Ballet as 'Le Fils' in Francis Poulenc's Les Mamelles de Tirésias. In 2020 he was planned to will perform the role of Snout in the touring Opera Zuid production of Benjamin Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream.

In 2016 Mitch Raemaekers has taken part in the Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme, where he studied the songs of Benjamin Britten with Roger Vignoles, Dame Ann Murray and Sir Thomas Allen. In co-operation with the Britten-Pears Foundation, he then sang B. Britten's Canticles at The Red House. He furthermore appeared at the Aldeburgh Festival, performing in the historic Jubilee Hall alongside Britten-Pears Alumni in June 2017. He returned to Aldeburgh in August 2019 to work with Philippe Herreweghe on J.S. Bach's Cantatas.
