Maria Jo Phelps (Mezzo-soprano)

Born: Tuscaloosa, Alabama, USA

The American mezzo-soprano, Maria Jo Phelps, is a senior at the University of Alabama, studying under Dr. Susan Williams. She was recently seen on the University of Alabama Opera Theatre stage in Joseph Landers' Let Us All Now Praise Famous Men (October 2019), No Ladies in the Lady’s Book by Lisa DeSpain and Rachel J. Peters, as Bradamante in George Frideric Handel's Alcina (October 2021), and in Gian Carlo Menotti's Amahl and the Night Visitors (December 2021)..
