Lea Elisabeth Müller (Mezzo-soprano)

Born: 1992 - Bregenz, Vorarlberg, Austria

The Austrian mezzo-soprano, Lea Elisabeth Müller, received her training while still at school at the Musikgymnasium Feldkirch with Professor Ingeborg Dobozy. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction in 2015 at the udied at Stella Vorarlberg Privathochschule für Musik under Professor Clemens Morgenthaler. After a year of studying at the Hochschule für Musik Nürnberg with Professor Susanne Kelling, she completed her studies in 2018 with a Master of Music degree with Professor Lioba Braun at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. She is is a scholarship holder of the Richard-Wagner-Verbandes Nürnberg. She currently studies at the Studies at Feldenkrais Institut Wien (since September 2021).

Lea Elisabeth Müller has gained opera and music theater experience in various opera projects at the Bregenzer Festspiele, Volksoper Wien, Vorarlberger Landestheater Bregenz, Internationalen GluckOpern-Festspielen Berching (Germany), Theater Aachen (Germany) and Wiener Taschenoper. Appearances as a soloist have taken her both at home and abroad, for example at the Festival Beethoven@home in the Schumannhaus in Bonn, at the Bodenseefestival, at the BeethovenWoche in Bonn, Musik in der Pforte Feldkirch, at the Rheingau Musik Festival 2019, Forum Alte Musik: St.Gerold, Bachkantaten in Vorarlberg 2020 and 2021, as well as in Wiener Stephansdom. Her participation in George Frideric Handel's Messiah 2018 in Bildstein (Austria) under Benjamin Lack was also acclaimed. She can be heard regularly as a soloist at concerts by Musica Sacra in Bildstein under the direction of David Burgstaller.

Lea Elisabeth Müller gained important inspiration from, among others, Kurt Widmer, Michael Gees, Claudia Rüggeberg, Elisabeth Scholl, Christiane Iven, Britta Schwarz (Vielklang Festival Tübingen 2020), and most recently from Anke Vondung and Emma Kirkby (Bachakademie Stuttgart 2022). She is currently being supervised vocally by Miriam Feuersinger (Bregenz) and Eva Lindqvist (Vienna).

Lea Elisabeth Müller is increasingly dedicating herself to the repertoire of early music, especially the repertoire of J.S. Bach, and was able to take part, among other things, at the panel of young vocal soloists of the Verbandes Deutscher Konzertchöre at the Theater Erfurt, at the Bachwettbewerb Leipzig 2020/2021 (which unfortunately could not take place due to Covid), and most recently qualified as a soloist in the master-classes of the Bachwoche 2022 under Hans-Christoph Rademann at the Stuttgarter Bachakademie.

Lea Elisabeth Müller appeared in a semi-staged performance of the oratorio Cain by Alessandro Scarlatti together with the Hassler Consort under the direction of Franz Raml in Ulm and at the Theater Lindau. J.S. Bach's Mass in B minor BWV 232 took her to Ferrara and Verona (Italy), among others, in December 2022 with La Cetra Barockorchester Basel under the direction of Andrea Marcon.
