National Chamber Choir of Moldova = Corul Național de Cameră (Chamber Choir)

Founded: 2002 - Chișinău (Chisinau), Republic of Moldova

The Corul Național de Cameră (National Chamber Choir of Moldova), was founded in March 2002 supported by Company “Union Fenosa”. This artistic collective had become one of the most values and promising choir from Moldova. They are laureate at the international concurrence in Spain (2002 and 2004 - Grand Prix), Czech Republic (2004 - Grand Prix) and Poland (2005 - II Prize). Nowadays this choir is conducted by a talented Ilona Stepan, she is also a master’s desk at the Chisinau Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts. From January 2006 the choir has been activated at the Organ Hall in the Republic of Moldova.

The Corul Național de Cameră's repertoire includes works from different eras from Baroque to contemporary, including: Stabat Mater by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi; Messiah, Dixit Dominus by George Frideric Handel; Magnificat, Credo, Dixit Dominus and Gloria by Antonio Vivaldi; Matthäus-Passion BWV 244, Johannes-Passion BWV 245, Mass in B minor BWV 232, Weihnachts-Oratorium BWV 248, Cantatas BWV 4 and BWV 140 by J.S. Bach, The Seasons by F.J. Haydn; Requiem, Coronation Mass and the operas in concert version Die Zauberflöte, La Clemenza di Titto by W.A. Mozart; Requiem by A. Salieri-Ciolac; Petite Messe Solennelle by G. Rossini, Messa in G major by F. Schubert; Requiem, Missa Coronationalis by Franz Liszt; Requiem by Gabriel Fauré; Messa by Camille Saint-Saëns; Carmina Burana by C. Orff in the version with 2 pianos and percussion; Mesa de Buenos-Aires by M. Palmeri; Lumieres mesa baroque for the XXI century by J. Loussier, Messa Kreola by A. Ramirez, etc..

In this period, the Corul Național de Cameră has taken part in projects with other conductors like: Requiem and Die Zauberflöte by W.A. Mozart, Messiah by G.F. Handel - with the conductor Crispin Ward from Great Britain; for W.A. Mozart's birthday - Mass Coronation and Vivaldi's night - with the French conductor Didier Talpain; Magnificat and Requiem by Ciolac - with composer and conductor Vladimir Ciolac; Carmina Burana by Orff - in variations with 2 piano and percussion instrument, Matthäus-Passion BWV 244 by J.S. Bach - with the German conductor Patrick Strub.

The Corul Național de Cameră has performed artistic tours in Switzerland, Spain. With with Symphonic Orchestra of the ”Teleradio-Moldova” company they appeared in Switzerland - conducted by Gheorghe Mustea, performing Carmina Burana, the musical production Nabucco, Tosca, La Traviata, also they have concerts of sacred and the contemporary music. In March 2009 the Choir took part in the assembling of the in the modern version production of the opera Masepa by Tchaikovsky in Dublin-Ireland. The Choir interpreted together with the Orchestra and the Dublin’s Choir and soloists of the theaters Mariinski from Saint-Petersburg and Bolshoi from Moscow - with conductor A. Anisimov from Minsk-Belarus. In the autumn of the same year the choir was again invited to Dublin - this time to participate with the soloists from Canada, the USA, Austria and Italy in the modern version of the opera Macbeth by Verdi.
