Caterina Micieli (Soprano)

The American soprano and voice teacher, Caterina Micieli Robinson, sang professionally in the Los Angeles area for many years, including the Roger Wagner Chorale, and the Guild Opera Company, which sponsored professional performances for grade school and high school students in the Greater Los Angeles area. She was a longtime participant in the annual Carmel Bach Festival and the Lyceum program, along with being a member of the I Cantori di, Carmel Choral Group.

Caterina Micieli was a teacher of voice at Baylor University and McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas. She also taught at Santa Catalina, Robert Louis Stevenson, and the Frohman Academy in the Montery Bay area. She was also the choir director of All Saints Episcopal Church in Carmel, California. She retired from teaching and performing in August 1987

Caterina Micieli was married to the Canadian-born tenor Richard Robinson, whom she met in the Roger Wagner Chorale, from 1953 until her death. She died on November 19, 2002, after a long illness. She was an 8-year resident of the Bakersfield area. She left behind her husband, Richard Robinson (1929-2007); one son, James; and three daughters, Frances Muchmore, Michelle Rupp and Anne Louise Timmermans; nine grandchildren, Jason, Angela, Christopher, Jessica, Jordan, Richard, Amanda, Nathan and Sydney; one great-granddaughter, Kyah Michelle; her mother, Mary Micieli of Torrance; her sister, Frances De Benedictis and husband, Leonard of Redondo Beach; one niece Gina-Marie; and one nephew, Vincent. She was preceded in death by her father, Angelo Micieli
