Paolo Mascari (Tenor)

Born: May 24, 1997 - Rome, Italy

The Italian tenor, Paolo Mascari, started to study as a lightweight tenor when he was 16 with the soprano Stefania Zanchiello. When he was admitted at the Conservatorio Statale di Musica “Ottorino Respighi” in Latina (Italy), he studied with soprano Virna Sforza and then with bass Enrico Turco. He is now studying with William Matteuzzi. In 2022 he is admitted to the Accademia del Belcanto “Rodolfo Celletti” of Martina Franca. During his studies he has attended master-classes with Vivica Genaux (Latina, March 2018) and Martina Franca, May 2022), with William Matteuzzi (Siena, July 2019 and August 2020) and Stefania Bonfadelli (May 2022). He is also graduated in Philosophy cum laude from the Università "La Sapienza" in Rome (2016-2019).

Paolo Mascari started his artistical activity in May 24-25, 2019 when he sang the role of Edoardo in Gioacchino Rossini's La Cambiale di Matrimonio in Latina in the Conservatorio’s concert hall (Conductor: Angelo Michele Errico; Director: Domenico Colaianni). He sang in July 2019 the role of Lindoro-Conte d'Almaviva in Giovanni Paisiello’s Il barbiere di Siviglia ovvero l’inutile precauzione, for the international Music Festival of Accademia Chigiana in the Teatro dei Rinnovati in Siena, Italy (Conductor: Angelo Michele Errico; Director: Cesare Scarton). In August 2020, he was Vespone in Giovanni Battista Pergolesi's La serva padrona for Chigiana Lab in Piazza Jacopo della Quercia Siena (Conductor of Orchestra Giovanile Italiana: Bernat Quetglas Torelló; (Supervisor: Daniele Gatti); Director: William Matteuzzi). In August 2021, in Siena, he was Conte Alberto in G. Rossini's L’occasione fa il ladro for Chigiana OperaLab, under the music coaching of Daniele Gatti and William Matteuzzi (Conductor: Nicolò Jacopo Suppa, Orchestra Senzaspine; Director: Lorenzo Mariani). In September 2021, he was cover of Don Ottavio in W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni, in Rovereto (Conductor: Giuseppe Sabbatini; Director: Nicola Ulivieri). In April and May 2022 he joined the European tour of Puccini’s Turandot for “Europa incanto” (Lipsia, Madrid and Croatia). In June 2022, he sang in a Belcanto recital in Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre of Al Kuwait.

Since October 2018, Paolo Mascari is a member of the Cantoria of Rome Opera House, School of Coral Singing (with the guide of tenor Giuseppe Sabbatini, Soprano Elizabeth Norberg-Schulz, Maestro Roberto Gabbiani).
