Sanjay Manohar (Counter-tenor)

Born: 1979 - England

The English counter-tenor, Sanjay George Manohar, studied at Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge University with Academic Scholarship (Medical Sciences Tripos, 1st class, 1999; BA with Honours in Physiology & Psychology, 2000; MB in BChir, 2003; 2004 Master of Arts, 2004). During his studies there he was a member of the Choir of Gonville & Caius College Canbridge (Director: Geoffrey Webber). He obtained his 2006 MRCP (UK) degree from Royal College of Physicians (2006); his PhD degree in Cognitive Neurology degree from UCL (2015); and became Associate Fellow of the HEA (teaching) from Higher Education Academy (2017).

Sanjay Manohar has worked been empl,oyeed as Pre-registration House Officer at West Suffolk Hospital (February 2003-February 2004); SHO Casualty at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, London (February-August 2004); SHO Neurology at National Hospital for Neurology(August 2004-February 2005); SHO Nephrology at Addenbrooke’s Hospital (February-August 2005); SHO Intensive Care at Kings College Hospital (August 2005-February 2006); SHO Medical rotation at Hammersmith Hospital (February-December 2006); Academic Clinical Fellowship at Cognitive Neurology, Imperial College, London (February-May 2010); Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Training Fellowship at Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience, Queen Square, UCL (May 2010-August 2013); Specialist Registrar in Neurology at Imperial College NHS Trust (August 2007-May 2014); Clinical Research Fellow at Department of Experimental Psychology, University of Oxford (May 2014-February 2016).

His current positions are: Honorary Senior Research Associate at UCL (since April 2017); Junior Research Fellow at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford (since September 2015); Honorary Consultant Neurologist at John Radcliffe Hospital (since August 2014); Associate Professor at University of Oxford (since September 2017); MRC Clinician Scientist Fellowship at Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences, Oxford (since February 2017).
