Linda Loosli (Soprano)

Born: Basel, Switzerland

The Swiss soprano, Linda Deborah Loosli, was a longtime member of the Mädchenkantorei in Basel and received her first singing lessons there. Since 2005, she studied singing at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste and graduated with honors in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. In 2010, she also graduated with honors with the Master of Arts degree in Singing Pedagogy with Professor Lina Maria Äkerlund. In addition, she was honored with the prize of the Werner und Berti Alter-Stiftung. In 2012, she graduated with Master of Arts degree in Performance with a focus on opera the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste, where she studied with Professor Scot Weir. She received this degree also with distinction. She received valuable musical impulses at international master-classes with bei John Llewelyn Evans, Kurt Widmer, Bodil Gümoes, Mariette Nollen, Meinard Kraak, Yvonne Naef, Hans Adolfsen, Daniel Fueter, Kees Boeke, Giorgio Mandolesi and Daniel Glaus, among others. Courses in Baroque singing with Jill Feldman and acting with Anette Uhlen complement her education.

Linda Loosli is a self-emloyed opewra, concert and Lied singer since 2010. She could be seen in the following opera productions: Am toten Mann (Staging: Stina Werenfels), Francis Poulenc's Dialogues des Carmélites (Staging: Matthias Schönfeldt, role of Mathilde), Orfeo" (role of Orfeo, staging: Thomas Fiedler) and last as Dorabella in W.A. Mozart's Così fan tutte (Staging: Peter Konwitschny).

Linda Loosli has a busy concert career as a Lieder and chamber music interpreter as well as an oratorio singer. She is especially enthusiastic about the Lieder. She has already acquired a large repertoire and regularly gives recitals together with her Lieder partner Olivia Geiser. Specially designed recitals were, among other, "Frauenzimmer – Dein Bildnis wunderselig…" a literary, scenic Liederabend historically informed, "Romanzen im Volkston"; romantic songs framed with literary texts. She regularly collaborates with the Basler Madrigalisten (Director: Fritz Näf) and Chor der J.S. Bach-Stiftung St. Gallen (Director: Rudolf Lutz).

Linda Loosli was solo singing teacher at Musikschule Konservatorium Zürich (2008)-2014). She was Musical Director of Ensemble Singvoll (2009-2014). She has been singing teacher at Musikschule Arlesheim since 2013.
