Florian Lohmann (Choral Conductor, Tenor)

Born: Hannover, Germany

The German tenor, Florian Lohmann, began his musical training in the Knabenchor Hannover. He studied school music, German studies, voice and voice pedagogy, and was a scholarship recipient of the Evangelische Studienstiftung Villigst. He received his choir conductor training most notably from Frank Löhr and Jörg Straube. Further motivation resulted in numerous master-classes with, among others, Paul van Nevel and Frieder Bernius.

Florian Lohmann is engaged as Artistic Director for the Gifhorner Kammerchor, the Capella St Crucis (since 2011) and the Collegium Vocale Hannover (since 2010). In addition to his duties as conductor, he is active as tenor soloist in professional ensembles. As contract instructor, he taught the subjects voice at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover (2010-2019), and choir conducting at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold (2013-2019). Since October 2019, he teaches choir conducting at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt. October 1, 2019 - PresentHe currently lives in Hannover, Germany.
