Augustin Laudet (Tenor)

Born: August 3, 1988 - Lyon, France

The French tenor, Augustin Laudet, began music within the Maitrise de la Primatiale St Jean à Lyon. After studying musicology at Université Lumière Lyon 2; singing and conducting at the CNRDL (2006-2011), he specialized in Baroque music at the Haute École de Musique de Genève in the class of Lucien Kandel (2012-2017). He obtained his master's degree with praises from the jury and he was awarded the special "Janine-Françoise Muller-Dumas" prize. He continued his training with Michelle Moser and Rachel Bersier.

Augustin Laudet mainly performs in the oratorio field, which he particularly likes. Thus he has participated as a soloist in works such as Vespers by Monteverdi, Il Trionfo Della Divina Giustizia by Nicola Porpora, Requiem by W.A. Mozart, Petite Messe Solennelle by Rossini, Le Roi David by Arthur Honegger. He also assumed the roles of Evangelists in many J.S. Bach Cantatas and in his Passions.

But Augustin Laudet also appears on stage where he has performed the roles of Quint in the opera The Turn of the Screw by Benjamin Britten, Hyllus in Hercules by George Frideric Handel, Mercury in Platée by Rameau, Egeo in Giasone by Cavalli, Artabano in Artaserse by Johann Christian Bach, and many others.

Augustin Laudet has collaborated with conductors such as John Duxbury, Stephan MacLeod, Celso Antunes, Gabriel Garrido, Leonardo García-Alarcón, Christophe Rousset, Daniel Reuss. He has performed in numerous professional vocal ensembles such as Les Jeun'Voix (since 2006), Vox Peregrina, L'Horizon Chimérique, L'Ensemble Vocal de Poche, Ensemble Buissonier, Les Sphères, Virga, Entresilence, La Fontana Cantabile, Genève Baroque, Cantatio, the Ensemble Vocal de Lausanne (Director: Michel Corboz; since September 2019), La Chapelle Harmonique, Choeur de Chambre de Namur (Director: Jean Tubéry) and Gli Angeli Genève (Director: Stephan MacLeod. He was also a member of Ensemble Les Argonautes (2018; Director: Jonas Descotte).

In parallel with his activities as a singer, Augustin Laudet directs the Choeur Mixte de Satigny, Choeur de la Basilique Notre-Dame de Genève, Ensemble des Chantres de Notre-Dame de Genève, Choeur Niedermeyer de Nyon and assists Fruzsina Suromi with his EVOHE choir. He currently lives in Geneva, Switzerland.
