The American soprano and music teacher, Skye Johnson, obtained her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Performance (Voice) with a Minor in Italian from The Ohio State University (2011-2015).
As an operatic vocalist, Skye Johnson has performed with Opera Columbus, Opera Project Columbus (since September 2017), OSU Opera and Miami Music Festival in numerous shows including Rigoletto, The Merry Widow, Madama Butterfly, Pagliacci, and the title role in Massanet’s Cendrillon. She also has a deep love for musical theater, jazz, and cabaret music, and has most recently been seen as Jenny in Company! She gives various recitals in Central Ohio.
Skye Johnson teaches voice and piano at Musicologie Lewis Center in Columbus, Ohio (since October 2021). As a life-long learner, she strives to strengthen her student’s technique and love of their preferred genre while introducing them to other genres and styles. In addition to teaching and performing, she is also the creator and co-host of 2 Bit Musicologists (since February 2021), a podcast dedicated to knocking classical music off its pedestal and revealing the eccentricities of composers and performers. |
