Irene Hammann (Soprano)

Born: Germany

The German soprano, Irene Hammann, studied in Detmold first if school music, then piano, tuning, hearing and singing with Professor Helmut Kretschmar. He particpated in master-classes with Professor Judith Beckmann (Lieder singing) and Barbara Schlick (early music).

Apart from various broadcast and recordings, Irene Hammann gives concerts and Lieder recitals all over everywhere in Germany, as well as abroad. Tours have led her, among other things, to Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Holland, Switzerland, France and Japan. Her concert repertoire reaches from Monteverdi to the composers of the 20th century, from coloratura literature to Requiems - compositions of Verdi, Dvorák and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Irene Hammann teaches at the Hochschule für Musik Köln.
