José Manuel Guinot (Tenor)

Born: September 18, 1979 - Elche, Spain

The Spanish tenor and singing teacher, José Manuel Guinot Pascual, entered the Escolanía del Misteri as a singing boy in 1988, when he was 9 years old, and in the performances of La Festa he played all the roles corresponding to infants except that of Ángel del Cortejo. In 1997, when he was 18 years old, he became part of the Capella, where he participated in la Judiada for the first two years and, subsequently, went to the apostolate. In the performances of 2011 he debuted as San Juan by Mestre José Antonio Román.. He studied at the elite Conservatorio de Música de Elche, were he obtained his Bachelor of Music degree in Piano and Singing (1992-2000). At the same time he was studying for a degree in Musical Education at the University of Alicante (1997-2000). In 2013 and 2014 he was awarded on the finals of the second and third international singing contest of Elda. Again at the Conservatorio de Música de Elche he obtained the title of Singing Teacher (1999-2005).

In November 2016 José Manuel Guinot performed the role of Menico at the premiere of Manuel Garcia's Un avvertimento ai gelosi at the National Auditorium of Madrid and the Maestranza Theatre of Sevilla, also recording a CD of the opera. In February 2017 he was selected by the Academy of the Religious Music of Cuenca as soloist to perform as Nathanael in Schubert's Lazarus Oratory, in the Auditorium of Cuenca which was aired on radio, with Radio Classic, and national television, with RTVE.

José Manuel Guinot is currently a primary school teacher, in the discipline of music, and a teacher at the Escolanía del Misteri d’Elx, where he is in charge of preparing the voices of solo children.
