The Spanish mezzo-soprano, Lucía Gómez Aiapúrua, begans her musical training at the age of three and combined her violin studies with vocal training. She obtained her dgree in Environmental Sciences from the University of Salamanca; in 2014 she obtained the superior title of singing in Musikene (Conservatorio Superior del País Vasco) under the tutelage of the mezzo-soprano Maite Arruabarrena. She expanded her training with Professor Maciej Pikulsky and received master-classes from Carlos Chausson, Malkom Walker, Tony Madigan, Ulrich Eisenlohr, and Ana Luisa Chova.
Lucía Gómez is the lead singer of Ciklus Ensemble, chamber group specialized in contemporary music. She regularly participates as a soloist in the productions of Conductus Ensemble and the Capilla de Santa María del Coro. She has performed at festivals such as Quincena Musical Donostiarra, Festival Música – Musika de Bilbao, Ciclo de la Fundación Bilbao 700, among others. Her repertoire ranges from the Baroque to the music of our time. Among her recent performance highlights are her interpretation of the character of Gea in the recording of the opera Selene by Tomás Marco, conductoed by José Luis Temes, the role of Dido in Henry Purcell's opera Diodo and Aeneas, the soloist in J.S. Bach's Matthäus-Passion (BWV 244) and her participation as alto soloist in W.A. Mozart's Requiem together with the Orfeón Donostiarra at the Auditorio Nacional. |
