Claudia Goebl (Soprano)

Born: Austria

The Austrian soprano, Claudia Goebl (neé: Chmelar), completed her singing studies with Edith Lienbacher, Robert Holl and David Lutz at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien (2010). The regular participation in master-classes with Francisco Araiza, Gerhard Kahry, Charles Spencer, Marjana Lipovšek, Roger Vignoles, Helena Lazarska and Angelika Kirchschlager completed her training. She is the winner of the competitions Nico-Dostal-Operettenwettbewerb, Musica Juventutis, Gradus ad Parnassum, Kärntner Sparkasse Wörthersee Musikstipen and Styriarte Classic Song Contest.

In 2011 Claudia Goebl made her debut as Sand- and Taumännchen in Engelbert Humperdinck's Hänsel und Gretel at the Volksoper Wien, where she has been heard performing in recent years. also as Barbarina, Papagena, Frasquita, Pauline and last in January 2019 as Zerlina in W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni. She also appeared at the Finnish National Opera in Helsinki as Adele in Die Fledermaus (October 2014-January 2015); Gabrielle in Pariser Leben (2012-2013) and Belinda in Dido and Aeneas (2013-2014) at the Landestheater Linz (September 2012-December 2013); Marzelline in L.v. Beethoven's Fidelio and Juliette in Der Graf von Luxemburg at the Stadttheater Baden (September-November 2016). At the Schlossfestspiele Langenlois she sang the Hannerl in Das Dreimäderlhaus (June August 2012), Ännchen in Der Freischütz at Oper Burg Gars (June-August 2014); and Adele at jOPERA (July-August 2016).

Claudia Goebl is also a sought-after soloist on the concert stage. For example, with the RSO Wien, with the Tonkünstler-Orchester with the Wiener Johann Strauß Orchester and the Johann Strauß Ensemble of the Wiener Symphoniker on a tour of Japan. As a Lieder and chamber music interpreter (she is part of the Trio Kornauth), she has been sung in recitals at the Wiener Konzerthaus, Wiener Musikverein, Klassikfest Mühlviertel, the Schubertiade Dürnstein, festivals in Montenegro, the Czech Republic and Italy. She maintains her love of J.S. Bach's vocal music and church music in general at regular concerts in Austrian churches. The conductors she has worked with include Philippe Jordan, Andrés Orozco-Estrada, Alfred Eschwé, Cornelius Meister, Johannes Wildner, Dirk Kaftan, Kristina Poska, Elisabeth Attl, Sébastien Rouland, David Levi and Alexander Joel. In 2011 she got married.
