Sean Gabel (Bass-Baritone)

Born: March 7, 1991 - Rancho Palos Verdes, Los Angeles, Calfornia, USA

The American bass-baritone singer, actor, sound engineer and keyboard player, Sean Gabel, studied voice at El Camino College (December 2006-December 2008). He obtained his Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Azusa Pacific University in 2013 and his Master of Music in 2016 while simultaneously serving as Technical Director for the APU Opera. and at Azusa Pacific University.

Sean Gabel is a multi-talented musician. He has been Bass-baritone Freelance Vocalist since January 2008. He has performed on stage since the age of 4 in solo performances, countless musicals, operas, and in various choirs from the Hollywood Bowl to Carnegie Hall. His Opera Experience includes: Christy in Nice Day for the Races (Michael Webster, 2018); Un Commissionario in La Traviata (PrimaVera Opera, 2017); Re - King of Scotland in George Frideric Handel's Ariodante (Azusa Pacific University, 2015); Il Commendatore in W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni (Azusa Pacific University, 2014); Eldest Son, Husband in The Vanishing Bridegroom (Azusa Pacific University, 2014); Sarastro in W.A. Mozart's The Magic Flute (Azusa Pacific University, 2013); Norton in La cambiale di matrimonio (Azusa Pacific University, 2011). His Concert Experience includes: Bass Soloist in J.S. Bach's Magnificat in D major BWV 243 (Los Angeles Chamber Choir / Ensoma Creative, 2019); Bass Soloist in Masters of the Classical Era (World Mission University / The Way Church, 2017); Featured Soloist in Songs & Scores from the Silver Screen (Edward Zelliff / La Habra United Methodist Church, 2016); Bass Soloist in G.F. Handel's Messiah (First Presbyterian Church of Anaheim, 2014); Featured Soloist in Celebrate Christmas (Azusa Pacific University / Lake Ave. Church, 2011); Don Alfonso, Papageno, Osmin in “Mostly Mozart” (Azusa Pacific University Opera, 2010); Featured Soloist in Getting a Handle on Händel (Azusa Pacific University Opera, 2009).

Sean Gabel was also Performer at Shanghai Disney Resort (November 2019-January 2020); Vocalist at Hong Kong Disneyland (October 2022-January 2023); Bass at Goode Time Productions featuring the Goode Time Carolers (since November 2019); Staff Singer at Pacific Chorale (since April 2020); Bass section leader at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church (since April 2021); Bass at TheAccidentals Quartet (since April 2023).

When not singing, Sean Gabel is an active pianist/keyboardist and both a recording and live sound engineer. He was Sound Engineer - Student Employee at Azusa Pacific University - Media Production (since August 2011); member of East Campus Chapel Band at Azusa Pacific University (since September 2011); Audio Engineering, Event, and Production Specialist at Azusa Pacific University - Media Production (2015-October 2022).
