The Italian mezzo-soprano, Marta Fumagalli, studied at Liceo Scientifico Galileo Galilei in Erba. She graduated with honors in Modern Literature from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore - Sede di Milano (1999-2004). In February 2009, she has brilliantly achieved the Singing Diploma at Conservatorio di Musica “G. Verdi” in Como, with the supervision of soprano Cristina Rubin (2004-2009). Afterwards, she deepened her studies in particular of Baroque technique and repertoire with the counter-tenor Roberto Balconi.
Marta Fumagalli collaborates with Baroque music ensembles (in particular: Le Concert des Nations, Ghislieri Choir & Consort, Il canto di Orfeo, LaBarocca, Cappella Neapolitana, Cantar Lontano, La Venexiana (Director: Claudio Cavina), La Divina Armonia, Dolce e Tempesta, LaVerdi Barocca) and she performs in Italy and abroad: Gran Teatre del Liceu de Barcelona, Arsenal de Metz, Opera de Rouen, DeSingel Anversa, Festival des Abbayes en Lorraine, Festival Barocco Boliviano, Philharmonie Paris, Pavia Barocca, Bozar Music, Festival d’Ambronay, Festival Pergolesi Spontini, Festival de La Chaise-Dieu, Festival Baroque du Pays du Mont Blanc, Internationale Händel-Festspiele Göttingen, Oh! Marta Fumagalli records for Sony Music, Tactus, Glossa, Brilliant Classics and Dynamic. Her recent CD "Pergolesi: Messa in Re maggiore & Motetto 'Dignas laudes resonemus' " (for the label Arcana) won the 'Diapason D'or Decouverte' in June 2018.
Marta Fumagalli is a member of the renewed Cappella di Santa Maria Maggiore in Bergamo. She currently lives in Lurago d'Erba. |
