Sarah Forestieri (Soprano)

Born: January 9, ____ - Schomberg, Ontario, Canada

The Canadian soprano, arts administrator, and educator. Sarah Forestieri, obtained her Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance from University of Toronto (2013-2017), where she was a recipient of the University of Toronto Faculty of Music Robert William Bygrave Bursary, and studied with her teacher, Elizabeth McDonald, and her coach, Helen Becqué. In summer 2016, she studied at Poetry and Performance of German Lied at the Franz-Schubert Institute, working with master teachers such as Elly Ameling, Julius Drake, Robert Holl, and Roger Vignoles, to name a few. She obtained her Master of Music degree in Voice Performance and Literature from Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester (2017-2019). She worked at Institute for Music Leadership (IML) at the Eastman School of Music and received Arts Leadership Certificate (September 2018-May 2019). She also received Certificate of Project Management from University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies (July 2022-August 2023).

Sarah Forestieri’s past performances include Rosaura in the Canadian premiere of Los Gavilanes (Toronto Operetta Theatre), Il Destino in La Calisto (Centre for Opera Studies in Italy), as well as in Alabama as a company member of the Druid City Opera Workshop. Other performances have included a variety of traditional and contemporary art song in Los Angeles, where she participated as a Schubert Fellow at the Songfest Art song Festival.

Sarah Forestieri is no stranger to the music theatre scene, having performed leading roles like Amber Von Tussle in Hairspray and Ariel Moore in Footloose. She also participated in Acting Upstage’s One Song Glory training program for emerging artists, and had the opportunity to work with Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, as a top 20 contestant on CBC’s hit TV show, Over The Rainbow. In November 2016, she appeared as a soloist in Waltz Rivals with Toronto Operetta Theatre, featuring the music of Imre Kálmán and Franz Lehár.

As an arts adminstrator, Sarah Forestieri was the Manager of Community Partnerships & Programs at the Canadian Opera Company (May 2019-April 2022). In this role, she was primarily responsible for the planning and execution of the COC’s community programs for children, youth and families. Since April 2022, she is Artistic Programming Associate at City of Brampton. In addition, she is the Community Manager at From the Voice of, an online community for connecting and engaging with forward-thinking singers and voice educators. She currently lives in King City, Ontario
