Judith Flury (Piano, Mezzo-soprano, Choral Conductor)

Born: Aargau Canton, Switzerland

The Swiss pianist, mezzo-soprano, choral conductor and music teacher, Judith Flury, began her studies at the Musikhochschule Basel with Laszlo Gyimesi (3 years), moved to the class of Karl-Andreas Kolly in Winterthur (3 years), and completed her piano studies with a teaching diploma and concert diloma with distinction. During her studies in Basel, she was in the chamber music class of Adrian Oetiker and Ruedi Lutz and and extended her degree with a chamber music focus. She received further impulses at master-classes with Karl Engel, Zsuzsanna Sirokay and Suren Bagratuni. In addition to studying piano, she studied music education II in Basel.

Judith Flury maintains a concert and chamber music activity as a freelance pianist in various formations. She combines a long collaboration with cellist Andreas Müller as well as with editor and moderator Andreas Müller-Crepon. She also sings with enthusiasm in smaller ambitious ensembles, including the Chor der J.S. Bach-Stiftung St. Gallen (Director: Rudolf Lutz). Since spring 2012, she directs the vocal ensemble Cantemus.

Judith Flury teaches with great commitment for several years at the Kantonsschule Wohlen (Aargau Canton) with a teaching assignment for school music, piano and choir.

The Aargauer Kuratorium sponsored her in 2013 with a studio stay in Berlin, in order to deal intensively with choral conducting. For the concert season 2015-2016 season, she was awarded by the Stiftung Pro Argovia as winner with the programs "Winterwords" and "An die Hoffnung".
