Jeroen Finke (Baritone)

Born: January 26, 1998 - Leipzig, Saxony, Germany

The German baritone and percussionist, Jeroen Finke, received lessons in percussion and orchestral percussion under Andreas Brinsa and Thomas Kaufmann. By participating in various ensembles such as Amici Musicae Leipzig, Jugendmusiziergruppe Michael Praetorius (2009-2016) and Jugendsymphonieorchester Leipzig (percussion: 2013-September 2017), he was able to gain versatile experience in the performance practice of different style epochs. Inspired by the impulses at the Festival für Alte Musik Montalbane, he specialized in historical and oriental percussion with classes taught by Nora Thiele and Peter Bauer.

With the Ensemble Dieci Esaltanti, founded in Leipzig in 2012, Jeroen Finke won the 1st National Prize at Jugend Musiziert in 2014 in the category Early Music as well as the Bachspiele Leipzig 2014. With Dieci Esaltanti he performed at festivals for early music in Germany and abroad (percussion/singing: 2012-January 2016). Since 2010, he has increasingly devoted himself to singing as the second training focus. He is also director of La Protezione della Musica and manager/percussionist in Mitteldeutsches Jugendbarockensemble in Leipzig.

As a student of the deep-musical profile, Jeroen Finke participated in various choral projects with, for example, Hermann Max and the Dresdner Kammerchor, under the direction of Olaf Katzer, part and develops after school career as a member and by temporary work in the Landesjugendchören Sachen und Thüringen and various smaller choirs, such as Chor der RHS Markkleeberg (tenor: 2011-2016). He also participated in projects of the HMT Leipzig last he sang the role of Philenius in the early German opera Pastorello musicale - ein verliebtes Schäferspiel by Johann Sebastiani. As a solo tenor / baritone he sang, among others, in Weihnachtshistorie by Heinrich Schütz and Bauernkantate (BWV 212) by J.S. Bach. Since 2017 he studies Early Music with the main subject singing at the Hochschule für Künste Bremen.
