Kirill Filin (Bass)

Born: November 29, 1977 - Moscow, Russia

The Russian bass, Kirill Filin, graduated with honors from the Academic Musical College at Moscow State Conservatory named after P.I. Tchaikovskiy (2002); graduated with honors from the Russian Academy of Music (RAM) named after Gnessins (teacher: Alexei Mochalov, the People’s Artist of Russia). He successfully participated three times in the all-Russian vocal competition of Bella voce in Moscow (1999 and 2000 - diplomas, 2002 - III prize). He is also a graduate of international competitions named after LP Aleksandrovskaya (2004, Minsk), II and III competitions of opera artists Galina Vishnevskaya (2008, 2010, Moscow); winner of the First All-Russian Open Contest of Vocalists Valentina Levko (2007, Moscow).

Kirill Filin is the soloist of the Moscow State Academic Chamber Music Theater named after BA Pokrovsky. In his repertoire of Basilio in G. Rossini's Il barbiere di Siviglia, Antonio in W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro, Leporello, Commander, Mazetto in W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni, Collen in G. Puccini's La bohème, Betto in G. Puccini's Gianni Schicchi, Philip II, Grand Inquisitor, Monk in G. Verdi's Don Carlos, Monterone, Sparafucile in G. Verdi's Rigoletto, Boris, Pimen in M.P. Mussorgsky's Boris Godunov, Sobakin in Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's The Tsar's Bride, Farlaf, Svetozar in M.I. Glinka's Ruslan and Lyudmila, Gremin in P.I. Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin, Kutuzo Marshal Davout in S.S. Prokofiev's War and Peace and other roles, as well as opera arias and romances of Russian and foreign composers, folk songs.

Kirill Filin has been a soloist of Moscow State Academic Chamber Theatre named after Boris Pokrovskiy. He takes part in concerts as well, particularly in collaboration with the Russian State Academic Symphonic Chapel under direction of Valery Polyansky, the Fund «Talents of the World» (under direction of David Gvinianidze) and the People's Club of Russian Bass Fans (under direction of Vyacheslav Sidorov), and other concert organizations. He works also with Gennady Rozhdestvensky, V. Polyansky, G. Vishnevskaya and other famous musicians of today.
