Gianluca Ferrarini (Organ, Tenor)

Born: 1964 - Italy

The Italian organist and tenor, Gianluca Ferrarini, graduated in organ and composition at the Conservatorio A.Boito in Parma, under the guidance of F.Tasini and singing at the Conservatorio Nicolini in Piacenza, with Professor L.Groppi . He completed his studies specializing in vocal repertoire of medieval, Renaissance and Baroque, attending seminars in Italy and elsewhere.

Gianluca Ferrarini has collaborated with the Concerto Italiano (Director: Rinaldo Alessandrini), Mala Punica of P. Memelsdorff and periodically with groups specializing in early and contemporary repertoire. He has made several productions with directors such as Italian and foreign Peter Neumann, Jordi Savall, Michael Radulescu, M. Fulgoni, D. Tabbia, G. Acciai, L. Picotti.

Gianluca Ferrarini has participated in important national festivals (Sagra Musicale Umbra in Perugia, Musica e Poesia a S. Maurizio in Milan, Settembre Musica in Turin, etc.) and international (Saintes, Beaune, Oslo, Porto, Liege, Brussels, Paris, Barcelona, Utrecht, Amsterdam, Tokyo, Kyoto, Singapore, New York, etc.). He also performed in a number of productions as a soloist with the Orchestra sinfonica dell’Emilia Romagna. He recently participated in the production of Monteverdi's Orfeo at Teatro alla Scala, directed by Ronald Wilson. He participated in the Accademia Organistica di Parma (AOP) in 2006 and 2011

From 1989 to 1997 Gianluca Ferrarini was director of the groups Voci Bianche and Coro Giovanile della Corale “Città di Parma", winning several national competitions. He is currently artistic director of the corale stessa. He teaches at the l’Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali F.Vittadini in Pavia.

Gianluca Ferrarini has made recordings with Symphonia, Opus 111, Erato, Stradivarius, Dynamic, Sarx, World Music, Harmonia Mundi France.
